Iron talk

A good healthy diet comprises of a balanced consumption of all-necessary minerals and vitamins.

Causes of Iron Deficiency

Premature birth and low birth weight are the major causes of iron deficiency for infants in the first six months, leading to insufficient supply of iron in the newborn's iron stores. The next six months are particularly vulnerable to the baby because of inadequate supply of iron for their rapid growth and poor eating habits. However, mothers must be aware of the crucial significance of iron at this stage when the children start developing their psychomotor capabilities as a deficiency can lead to cognitive and psychomotor damage. Moreover, such impairment may not always be completly reversible.
